Bright Supernova Observing Group

The Bright Supernova Observing Group is a collaboration of astronomers working on supernovae (SNe) at Szeged Observatory, Konkoly Observatory and Baja Observatory, Hungary. The aim  of this research is

  • to obtain long-term, good-quality light curves of current SNe
  • to collect optical spectra of bright SNe in the photospheric as well as in the nebular phase
  • to enlarge the sample of calibrated data of well-observed nearby SNe
  • to contribute to the improvement of cosmic distance measurements based on SNe.
  • !! NEW !! BVRI frames of Nearby Galaxy Survey program are available for download
